Zane’s Fall Activities

Zane is going to be a busy little guy this fall.

This Wednesday he went to his first Awana meeting. Awana is a National Non-Denominational Club designed to teach children how to have a personal relationship with Christ. Zane is in the Cubbies Awana Club. Next week, he will get his vest, and when he recites his 3 Bible verses he’ll get his first patch. Derek had already started teaching Zane new Bible verse per week (he can already recite 4 verses by heart). Also, one of his best friends from Kindercare goes to Awana on Wednesday nights. The Awana Cubbies will meet every Wednesday, and it’s a two-year weekly club program.

We also signed him up for Team Kids Baseball (T-Ball) at SBC. He is so excited to start playing with his “team.” The practices start September 20th and the games will start October 4th. The season will consist of 9 practices and 7 games. I will be sure to keep the blog updated with pictures of him and his team.

Home Sweet Home...

I wanted to share pictures of our house, since I know we have loved ones pretty far away... Take into consideration it's still a work in progress. I don't think we have one room that we would consider to be completely finished.

Southwest Airlines...

Derek received a call from the chief pilot at the Baltimore base offering him the job. Seeing as the week before Derek received the furlough letter from CAL, this couldn't have come at a better time. We feel so blessed right now, and know that the Lord is going to keep our family safe.

Zane is still trying to get used to saying that him and Dad fly a purple plane... but with time I think he'll be more accepting. I'm sure when he sees the Shamu planes he'll be ecstatic.

On Monday Derek goes in for his drug test, and once that comes back it will be official. Hopefully, at that time we will know his official start date.
